The Greater Vancouver Hot chocolate Festival is back!

The event:

It is a city-wide cocoa base beverage contest that lasts for a month; this year, the festival goes from January 14th to February 14th. Every edition, the best local coffee shops and bakeries put tons of creativity and work into creating a unique version of the traditional hot chocolate.

During a month, locals and visitors can explore the city to try the special edition drinks created by the best local shops of the food industry in Vancouver. Each participant offers two different hot chocolate versions that customers can choose from. This festival has become a fun way to deal with the cold weather while trying new flavours and desserts you might never imagine!

For business owners and staff, it's one of the year's best moments! The hot chocolate festival is the perfect opportunity to go high in creativity and make exceptional beverages without limitations. Each year, Vancouver coffee shops beat themselves with impressive creations; not only the flavours are mind-blowing, but the dessert that pairs the drink elevates the whole experience.

This year, the festival confirmed 95 locations and approximately 143 hot chocolate flavours (McLean, 2023).

The Story behind:

The Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival was created in 2011. Primarily, it was an initiative whose goal was to support small and local businesses while giving the community an exciting way of going through winter. In addition, this project also supports local non-profit organizations like “Growing Chefs” and “Fresh to Families” (Hot Chocolate Festival, 2023).
